Visit to Baddesley Clinton
August 8
This atmospheric moated medieval manor house in the Forest of Arden was given to the National Trust in 1980. The bridge over the moat leads through the gatehouse to a pretty courtyard and into the great hall. Other rooms to visit include chapel, library, kitchen, bedroom and 19th century artists’ studio. There are priests’ holes where Catholic priests hid in the 15th century. In the gardens there are medieval fishponds, a lakeside walk, a walled garden and an orchard.
