Extended and developed in grand style in the 1520s by Henry VIII, the present day elegance and romance of the palace owes much to the Christopher Wren designed baroque buildings commissioned by William and Mary at the end of the 17th century. The building is split into sections each telling a story of a different period of history so you can choose which sections to visit. Highlights include the magnificent Great Hall, the stunning vaulted ceiling of the Chapel Royal and the enormous kitchens, which are the most extensive surviving 16th -century kitchens in Europe.
