Visit to Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens (Horsham, W Sussex)
26 April 2022
In 2019, Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens opened its doors after a closure of 10 years. Nearly lost forever, this magnificent Grade 1 listed garden has seen the largest garden restoration in England, possibly Europe. In April, highlights should include rhododendrons, azaleas, and camellias together with magnolias and bluebells. The different colours reflected in the lakes are amazing. In addition, there is an exhibition of sculptures -‘The Walk of Life’ by Anton Smit and an art gallery. There is also a 1:12 scale model of an estate and surrounding villages created by Helen Holland in 1998. Joeys can be seen in the wallaby enclosure – feeding time is 12 to 2.15pm. Refreshments can be obtained in The Courtyard Cafe & The Clock Tower Café.
